Vuelta e Espana 2015 (and WHO Fantasy League)
Just a week to go before this year's edition starts in Utrecht. Four potential winners this year, and of those Froome and Bertie are in good form and Nibali won the Italian national RR today.

I've created a WHO mini-league on our usual fantasy league site. All welcome. As always, my only aim is to beat defjam.

Great speech after winning as well.

Ah-ha. Now we know why Cav is leaving Etixx. No-one from the UK would want to wear a Lidl jersey...

the combined ages of Cav's lead out team is going to be huge. Bet he still wins a bunch of stages at the minor tours though. He is going to give the Rio Olympics a go too apparently; presumably the Madison.

Mine too, the man's a genius. Cav is effectively retiring if he goes to MTN, basically chucking it in.

Briefly resurrecting this to say chapeau to Peto Sagan. My favourite non-British non-footballing sportsperson by far.

And Cav is will be heading up the up-and-coming and almost past it gang at MTN next season. Let's hope the change of sponsor to Data Dimension will allow them to stop looking like a Geordie spinning class.

Nice one Dan M, grand tours are the only ones worth doing.

I think I finished with three riders, I am the kiss of death to a riders' prospects.

Has anyone else spotted Fabio Aru's resemblance to Donkey from Shrek?

Next year I'll fuck off the B listers and just do leagues for the Giro, Tour and Vuelta.

Now is anyone going to stand up and say that they are "BIKERCUNT"?

Thanks for sorting it out.

So that's that for the grand tours of 2015. Well done to Sid for the win. Sombrero to defjam for finishing above me. Oh, and well done Fabio Aru for actually winning the race. Persistence got him past Dumoulin at the last moment. Would have been interesting if Giant had arrived with a possible victory in mind and a gameplan to match, but in the end it was Big Tom versus the rest.

And a final word for ITV - some of the most insightful and charismatic sports coverage you'll ever see. As much as I like him, Paul Sherwen should fall on his sword and let David Millar be the english-speaking world's co-commentator for the Tour.

Watched the Tour of Britain last few days, what a team rider that Ian Stannard is, absolute workhorse.

I'm down to 4 riders, one of which is yet to score a point.

Fair play to Froome, he did indeed have a broken foot. Geezer.

Froome doesn't appear to be that good at recovering from crashes, he's a bit of a delicate flower. No getting up and riding on with a broken leg here, the pampered tart!

I lost Froome as well (and Sagan before).
Glad I picked Aru as backup now...

Nibali
Van Garderen
Sagan
Martin

All out from my team. Basically all the good ones!

Losing Sagan and dan martin in the same day has ruined it up for me ...I need Thomas and Froome to ride them selves back into form now and Rodriguez to suit the type of mountains...

Re: Vuelta e Espana 2015 (and WHO Fantasy League)
Gutsy from Froome today.

Clearly not at 100% but keeping himself competitive.

Sky have three cards they can play in Roche, Froome and Nieve which helps Froome a lot.
